. Review Wardah Renew You Anti Aging Series Wardah. Siapa sih yang nggak tau brand yang satu ini? Kualitasnya baik tapi harganya tetap terjangkau. Yang nggak kalah penting Wardah juga menjadi pelopor kosmetik halal di Indonesia. Nggak heran jika Wardah begitu banyak diminati kaum wanita. Aku pun sudah lama menggunakan produk-produk dari Wardah. Mulai dari make up hingga skincare. Rasanya nggak berlebihan kalau sekarang aku mempercayakan perawatan kulit wajahku pada rangkaian skincare dari Wardah. Jujur aja ini adalah skincare terniat yang pernah kubeli. Biasanya palingmentok aku cuma memakai mosturizer. Bahkan waktu hamil kemarin aku bener-bener berhenti pakai skincare. Pertama karena takut kandungan bahan kimianya akan berpengaruh ke janin. Kedua malas aja katanya sih emang gitu kalau hamil anak cowok, jadi males dandan dan lebih cuek dengan penampilan Setelah melahirkan pun aku masih malas. Ah, boro-boro bisa ngurusin muka, untuk hal-hal pokok seperti mandi dan makan pun kadang keteteren. Sampai pada akhirnya ada satu moment di mana aku ngelihat diriku di cermin dan menyadari keadaanku yang sangat memprihatinkan. Rambut kusut, kulit kering dan kusam, mata panda. Duh! Dari situ aku pun memutuskan untuk kembali merawat diri. Terutama kulit wajahku. Kenapa akhirnya aku memilih Wardah Renew You series? Sebenarnya keinginan itu udah muncul saat aku hamil. Jadi ceritanya, dulu tiap kali dateng ke mall, kasir atau penjaga tokonya selalu menyapaku dengan panggilan "Kak" tapi semenjak aku hamil panggilan itu berubah menjadi "Bu" atau "Bunda". Ya emang nggak salah sih. Tapi tetep aja aku agak shock. Jadi bikin aku sadar kalau umurku udah nggak muda lagi. Menjelang umur 30 tahun ini aku mulai berpikir bahwa udah saatnya memulai perawatan anti aging. Setahuku, Wardah Renew You memang ditujukan untuk umur-umur sepertiku. Kandungan apple phytocell dan bahan-bahan aktif lainnya mampu meregenerasi kulit dengan cepat sehingga dapat memperlambat penuaan dini. Karena sifatnya mencegah, jadi memang seharusnya tidak menunggu keriput muncul dulu baru melakukan perawatan. Selain meregenerasi kulit, Wardah Renew You juga memiliki manfaat antara lain membantu menjaga kelembaban dan elastisitas kulit, membuat kulit terasa lebih halus, menyamarkan bintik-bintik gelap dan garis-garis halus dan melindungi kulit dari radikal bebas. Rangkaian Wardah Renew You terdiri dari 7 produk. Facial foam, treatment essence, day cream, night cream, intensive serum dan sleeping mask. Aku membelinya secara terpisah. Pertama aku hanya mencoba serum dan night cream-nya, ternyata cocok. Selanjutnya aku membeli day cream, eye cream dan sleeping mask. Terakhir aku membeli facial foam-nya. Untuk yang satu ini aku membeli secara online karena waktu itu sedang ada diskon di official store-nya Wardah. Sebenernya masih ada satu produk lagi yang belum aku punya yaitu treatment essence. Selain untuk menghidrasi kulit, ini juga berfungsi mempersiapkan kulit agat mampu menyerap produk-produk skincare dengan lebih maksimal. Pengen sih beli, tapi berhubung harganya lumayan mahal, jadi nanti dulu deh. Sekarang aku mau review yang ada dulu ya. Fungsinya untuk membersihkan wajah dan melembabkan kulit. Isinya bening seperti gel dengan wangi yang menyegarkan. Facial wash ini sedikit berbeda dengan yang biasa kupakai. Busanya tidak begitu banyak dan setelah dibilas meninggalkan licin seperti bekas sabun. Mungkin memang sengaja agar kulit nggak kering. Awalnya aku agak risih, tapi lama-lama aku malah jadi suka karena kulitku yang biasanya kering setelah memakai facial wash jadi terasa lembab. 2. Day Cream Teksturenya creamy. Terasa ringan di kulit jadi nyaman untuk dipakai sehari-hari. Aku juga tidak mengalami masalah ketika menumpuknya dengan make up. Selain kandungan anti aging day cream ini juga dilengkapi dengan SPF 30 untuk melindungi kulit dari paparan sinar matahari. 3. Night Cream Isi dan kemasannya hampir sama dengan day cream. Bedanya adalah day cream mengandung SPF sedangkan night cream tidak. Kandungan aktif night cream mampu melembabkan kulit sepanjang malam sehingga pagi harinya aku selalu merasakan kulit wajahku lebih lembab. 4. Intensive Serum Ini nih yang paling kusuka di antara semua rangkaian produk Wardah Renew You. Cairan serumnya cepet meresap di kulit dan hampir tidak meninggalkan bekas. Tidak seperti mosturizer, serum juga mampu meresap jauh ke lapisan kulit sehingga bisa langsung mengenai target permasalahan kulit. Digunakan pada malam hari sebelum memakai night cream. Selain isi, aku juga suka dengan kemasannya, menggunakan botol pipet sehingga lebih higienis. Cream Salah satu tanda penuaan yang paling jelas dapat dilihat dari kerutan mata. Karena itulah eye cream menjadi bagian penting dari rangkaian produk anti aging wardah ini. Kemasannya mungil. Isinya cuma 10ml, tapi menurutku itu cukup karena hanya digunakan di area seputar mata. Selain membantu menyamarkan kerutan sekitar mata, eye cream ini juga dapat mengurangi kantung mata dan lingkaran hitam di seputar mata. 5. Sleeping Mask Isinya cream, sedikit encer. Dikemas dalam bentuk jar. Ada spatulanya juga agar lebih higienis, walaupun aku sendiri lebih suka langsung comot pake jari. Ketika pertama kali dipakai rasanya agak tebal di kulit. Tapi setelah beberapa saat creamnya akan meresap. Kulit tetap lentur jadi nyaman untuk dipakai semalaman. Fungsi dari sleeping mask ini adalah untuk menghidrasi kulit sekaligus membantu proses peremajaan kulit sepanjang malam. Untuk penggunaannya cukup 2x saja seminggu. Cara pemakaian 1. Bersihkan wajah menggunakan facial wash 2. Gunakan treatment essence dengan cara tuang secukupnya di telapak tangan lalu tepuk-tepukan pada wajah agar meresap dengan baik 3. Oleskan serum tipis-tipis biasanya aku hanya menggunakannya pada malam hari 4. Oleskan eye cream di area kulit sekitar mata 5. Gunakan day cream pada siang hari atau night cream pada malam harinya 6. Khusus untuk perawatan malam, akhiri dengan mengoleskan sleeping mask secara merata pada wajah dan biarkan semalaman Aku sudah sebulan lebih rutin menggunakan rangkaian produk Wardah Renew You. Do we need a special treatment at night to our facial skin? Doing the skincare routine is the thing that should be done for most women every day, every week or in a specific period, in order to have a healthy glowing skin. According to that dream, we usually used different productsâ series for daytime and night time. The ingredients of a daytime skincare products usually lighter than the ingredients for the night time. Basically, our skin will need an in-depth skin treatment at night for improving the skin condition after facing lots of pollution during the day and the proper night treatment will drive the skin condition back to normal. I, personally, do the proper night skincare routine, which is based on my version. What are they ? After cleansing my facial skin with a facial oil and a facial foam, I apply the facial toner in all over my face. Currently, I used Wardah Hydrating Toner. It is the Indonesian brand and it is suitable to my skin as my skin is very sensitive. I reviewed this toner that can be read through this LINK. After the toner has dried, I continue to apply the facial essence in all over my facial skin. Since December 2017, I use LâOREAL Revitalift Essence Water and I put the review in this LINK. Actually, after 7 months of usage, I havenât got a significant result like my previous facial treatment essence SK II. However, I believe that each product provide different benefits. Itâs approved by Ecocert and also used in the food industry E415. Itâs pretty much the current IT-preservative. Itâs safe and gentle, but even more importantly, itâs not a feared-by-everyone-mostly-without-scientific-reason not something new it was introduced around 1950 and today it can be used up to 1% worldwide. It can be found in nature - in green tea - but the version used in cosmetics is synthetic. Other than having a good safety profile and being quite gentle to the skin it has some other advantages too. It can be used in many types of formulations as it has great thermal stability can be heated up to 85°C and works on a wide range of pH levels ph 3-10. Itâs often used together with ethylhexylglycerin as it nicely improves the preservative activity of glycol, or letâs just call it BG, is a multi-tasking colorless, syrupy liquid. Itâs a great pick for creating a nice feeling product. BGâs main job is usually to be a solvent for the other ingredients. Other tasks include helping the product to absorb faster and deeper into the skin penetration enhancer, making the product spread nicely over the skin slip agent, and attracting water humectant into the skin. Itâs an ingredient whose safety hasnât been questioned so far by anyone at least not that we know about. BG is approved by Ecocert and is also used enthusiastically in natural products. BTW, itâs also a food additive. Also-called Orange Fruit Extract We have to start by writing that there are about 900 citrus species in the world, and plenty of them are used to make different kinds of extracts used in cosmetics. This particular one, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Extract is a very common ingredient, however, the species "Citrus Aurantium Dulcis" seem to exist only on ingredient lists and the real world calls this guy Citrus Sinensis or, you know, orange. To complicate matters further, there are lots of varieties and lots of extraction methods, so it is a bit hard to know what you are getting with this one, but we will try our best to summarize the possibilities. A very common scenario is that Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Extract is on the ingredient list for its mild, natural exfoliant properties. It contains mainly citric acid and some malic acid, AHA exfoliants known for their skin renewing properties. If that's the case, it is usually combined with other AHA containing fruits such as bilberry, sugar cane, lemon, and sugar maple in a super popular ingredient mix trade named ACB Fruit Mix. But orange fruit is loaded with lots of other active compounds with a wide variety of possible effects. A well-known one is the antioxidant vitamin C, aka ascorbic acid, but the dosage will vary based on the extraction method, and itâs possible that some of the ascorbic acid content will degrade before extraction process even takes place. If you want vitamin C in your skincare, that is smart, but do not rely on orange fruit extract for it. Flavonoids hesperidin, naringin, luteolin, and ferulic acid are also nice active compounds with possible antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and vasoprotective effects. Some of them namely hesperidin and luteolin might even have skin brightening activity by inhibiting tyrosinase, the famous enzyme needed for melanin production. The orange extract also contains carbohydrates, aka sugars mostly glucose, fructose, and sucrose, but also some bigger polysaccharides such as pectin giving the ingredient some moisturizing properties. Some essential oil content is usually also present in citrus fruit extracts, which means a nice scent and antibacterial properties, but also some questionable compounds such as fragrance allergen limonene or phototoxic compound bergaptene. If the amount is big enough to worry about is questionable, probably not, however, the same question applies to all the nice beneficial compounds. Overall, we think that the orange fruit extract is a very complex ingredient with lots of potentially good things in it, but we could not find proper in-vivo made on real people studies made with standardized extracts to validate what it really does or does not under real-world use cases. Also-called Fragrance, Parfum;Parfum/Fragrance What-it-does perfuming Exactly what it sounds nice smelling stuff put into cosmetic products so that the end product also smells nice. Fragrance in the US and parfum in the EU is a generic term on the ingredient list that is made up of 30 to 50 chemicals on average but it can have as much as 200 components!. If you are someone who likes to know what you put on your face then fragrance is not your best friend - there's no way to know whatâs really in it. Also, if your skin is sensitive, fragrance is again not your best friend. Itâs the number one cause of contact allergy to cosmetics. Itâs definitely a smart thing to avoid with sensitive skin and fragrance of any type - natural is just as allergic as synthetic, if not worse!. Also-called Sugar Maple Extract The extract coming from the Sugar Maple tree, the one whose leaf is on the Canadian flag and gives us maple main reason it is used in skin care is that it contains natural AHA acids, namely Malic and Tartaric, and hence why it supposedly helps slough off dead skin cells in combination with other acid-containing fruit extracts as part of the trade name ACB Fruit Mix. The manufacturer claims that both malic and tartaric increase elasticity in the skin, but from our research, the only confirmed uses of these acids are as pH adjusters, especially in the tiny amounts they can be found in the Fruit Mix less than 1%. A super common emollient that makes your skin feel nice and smooth. It comes from coconut oil and glycerin, itâs light-textured, clear, odorless and non-greasy. Itâs a nice ingredient that just feels good on the skin, is super well tolerated by every skin type and easy to formulate with. No wonder itâs popular. What-it-does soothing Irritancy 0 Comedogenicity 0 Super common soothing ingredient. It can be found naturally in the roots & leaves of the comfrey plant, but more often than not what's in the cosmetic products is produced synthetically. It's not only soothing but it' also skin-softening and protecting and can promote wound healing. We don't have description for this ingredient yet. Also-called Vitamin E Acetate What-it-does antioxidant Irritancy 0 Comedogenicity 0 Itâs the most commonly used version of pure vitamin E in cosmetics. You can read all about the pure form here.
